It is aimed squarely at families with young children and at drivers who have never taken anything off-road, and the itinerary is arranged to match — scenic viewpoints, a hidden waterfall when the season allows, and a temple stop rather than a relentless trail.

You choose between the two-seat Z8, the roomier two-seat Z10 and the four-seat Z950, which is the one families book. Every vehicle is automatic and designed for comfort rather than for a fast line through mud.

The route reaches the highest point on the island at 630 metres above sea level, where refreshing drinks and fresh fruit are included in the stop. Groups are kept small and the guide stays with them. One requirement to note: a car driving licence is needed, as it is for every buggy on Koh Samui.
